Undercurrent VI - Original abstract drawing in archival pigment ink on heavyweight 300GSM paper. Part of the Undercurrent series. Two large, fan-shaped forms unfurl from a shared central stem, one above the other, filling the composition with sweeping, expansive curves. Long, unbroken contour lines run from the narrow base of each fan outward to its ruffled, lobed edges, creating an impression of radial growth - as though the forms are opening, reaching, extending toward the margins of the page. The upper fan tilts slightly to the left and spreads wider, its edge breaking into three or four distinct lobes. The lower fan mirrors this gesture in reverse, curving rightward and downward with a heavier, more voluminous quality. Where the two fans meet at the central stem, the lines converge to a tight, almost calligraphic point of tension before sweeping outward again. This is the most open and expansive work in the series. The line spacing is generous. The forms breathe. Where other pieces achieve their power through density and compression, this one achieves it through extension and reach - the feeling of something unfurling to its full span.
